It’s been a while since I have written one of these! My last one was my August 2019 Reading Wrap Up. Admittedly since starting a masters I have not had as much spare time to read for pleasure. This month though I managed to make it through a few books. Here is my November 2019 Reading Wrap Up!
The Wicked King by Holly Black ⭐⭐⭐
Unfortunately this sequel wasn’t my absolute favourite. I found it to be very political and so it meant I found myself quite bored reading it. The twists in this book didn’t feel like much of a surprise for me either. The main reason I wanted to make sure I read The Wicked King in November was to be ready for The Queen of Nothing!
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I devoured this book in two days. I loved it so much! It was an absolutely brilliant ending to The Folk of the Air series. I managed to get my hands on it early because Waterstones got their copies before the release date. My preorder was ready to pick up in store 3 days before it officially released so I was so pumped! You can check out my spoiler-free review, here.
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I got in a bit of a reading slump with this series after City of Fallen Angels. It really was not an enjoyable read and I struggled to make it to the end without DNFing it. City of Lost Souls on the other hand was a welcome change of pace! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this instalment to The Mortal Instruments and I’m hoping to have the series finished by the end of December so I can move straight onto The Dark Artifices. My goal is to be completely caught up by the time Chain of Gold drops in March 2020.
That’s all for my November 2019 Reading Wrap Up. How many books did you read in November? Comment down below!
