This year I set myself some reading goals, one of them being to begin a Reading Journal. So I thought i’d do a post on my 2020 reading journal spreads that I have come up with so far. The journal I am using is the Queen Grimhilde Disney design from Papier. They have the most beautiful dotted notebooks and planners.

Journal Tracker Spreads
Journal tracker spreads are a super fun addition to any kind of journal. If you get in a good habit of filling them out, its really fun to look back on at the end of the year or month to see how well you did. I usually like to make trackers for habits that I want to reinforce or progress that I want to make on something.
In my reading journal I have included a tracker for my Goodreads 2020 Challenge, Bookstagram posting and follower goal trackers, Blog stats trackers, a general social media tracker. My journal isn’t the neatest but I pride myself on it being useful over just looking perfect. Otherwise it takes the fun out of it for me.
You’ll notice that I also don’t like to use an awful lot of colour in my journal. From past experience I have learnt that I definitely prefer a more clean, monochrome feel. So I tend to stick to black, grey and white for most of my spreads. Mostly using greys for drop shadows and highlights.
2020 Calendar Spread
A double page spread of the entire year at a glance with some space for small notes.
I always find it useful to have a calendar spread regardless of what kind of journal I am creating. It’s super helpful to have a place to refer back to for dates. In this instance this was most useful for creating the trackers and referring back to how many days were in each month for drawing grids and boxes. I also like to circle dates for book releases!
