It’s the last day of 2020! And that has got me thinking about what kind of goals I want to set myself for the coming year. As well as some general life and career goals I also wanted to set myself some reading goals. So, without further ado, here are My 2020 Reading Goals:
1. Finish Reading Books I Already Own
I have this habit of getting new books and finishing them and then getting more new books. I really want to finish reading some of the unread books already sitting on my shelves first! To help me achieve this goal I think I am going to create an inventory of all my books and check the ones I have finished which brings me to my next goal…
2. Start A Reading Journal
I have seen BooksWithChloe’s reading journal and I loved the idea of it. I didn’t think it was something I would maintain though as I mainly use Goodreads to keep track of everything. I have since decided I want to give it a try though as I quite miss journaling.
3. Set a Higher Goodreads Goal
For 2019 I set myself a goodreads goal of 10 books and then within a month or two pushed it to 25. I finished that goal too well before the year was out! So for 2020 I want to double that to 50 books! I’ve worked out that roughly if I read a book a week I could realistically achieve it.
4. Read More Graphic Novels
I only read one graphic novel this year and I absolutely loved it! It has inspired me to branch out and read more of them. I don’t really know where to find good recommendations for graphic novels though. So, if you have any you think I should read, comment down below!
5. Get Caught Up On Cassandra Clare’s Books
I decided to set a goal specific to one series because I am in the middle of so many! I am so close to be caught up with Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters books so I want to make sure by the end of 2020 I am fully caught up.
