Manga I Recently Added To My TBR

manga TBR

I have recently been really enjoying watching animé and reading more manga. I went on a rampage adding loads of manga to my Amazon Wishlist. Here are some to name a few!

Yamada-Kun & The Seven Witches By Miki Yoshikawa

Class troublemaker Ryu Yamada is already having a bad day when he stumbles down a staircase along with star student Urara Shiraishi. When he wakes up, he realises they have switched bodies – and that Ryu has the power to trade places with anyone with only a kiss! Plus, it turns out he’s not the only kid at school with a few magic tricks up his sleeve.

I finished watching season 1 of this anime a few days ago and I absolutely adored it! From the first few moments I was hooked by the story. By the end I needed to pick up and manga and see how the story continues. Manga are usually way ahead of anime releases, and I don’t think I can wait for season 2!

Orange By Ichigo Takano

Everyone has regrets in life. So who wouldn’t take the chance to change the past if given the opportunity? When sixteen-year-old Takamiya Naho receives a mysterious letter, claiming to be from her twenty-seven-year-old self, her life is suddenly thrown into flux. The letter informs her that a new transfer student by the name of Naruse Kakeru will be joining her class, and to keep her eye on him. What is Naho to make of the letter’s contents and its cryptic warning?

I first heard about this manga while watching one of Books With Chloe’s Reading Vlogs. I continued to see it in other videos and such so I decided to look up more about it. The synopsis sounds incredibly interesting. I am super tempted to start the animé right away I am going to try and read the manga first!

Waiting For Spring By Anashin

A sweet romantic story of a soft-spoken high school freshman and her quest to make friends, Waiting for Spring will delight fans of earnest, fun, and dramatic shojo like Kimi ni Todoke and Say I Love You. Mizuki is a shy girl who’s about to enter high school, and vows to open herself up to new friendships. Of course, the four stars of the boys’ basketball team weren’t exactly the friends she had in mind! Yet, when they drop by the café where she works, the five quickly hit it off. Soon she’s been accidentally thrust into the spotlight, targeted by jealous girls. And will she expand her mission to include… love?

I saw this on ashleyoutpaged on YouTube. She was raving about her new favourite series and it was this! It sounds super light-hearted and relatable. I absolutely love how colourful and bright the covers are too! Kindle Unlimited includes a lot of these manga but I definitely want physical copies to display on my shelf. Especially when they look as cute as these!

The Infernal Devices Manga By Cassandra Clare and Hye-Kyung Baek

The Infernal Devices is the story of Tessa Gray, a sixteen-year-old American girl traveling alone to Victorian London who runs afoul of the city’s sordid supernatural underworld. Rescued by the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, Tessa quickly finds herself caught up in an intrigue that may very well destroy her new friends – including the two enigmatic young men, Jem and Will, who have taken her under their wing…

I loved the books of this series! When I saw there was a manga (although categorised as a graphic novel) I needed to add it to my TBR. This will make rereading this series a whole new visual experience. The drawings look incredible! I think it will be interesting to have images of the scenes in the book depicted as it goes along.

Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!

A self-proclaimed hikikomori that loves gaming, Kazuma Satou’s young life has come to an abrupt end. In the afterlife, he’s approached by the beautiful goddess, Aqua, who gives him an offer of being reincarnated in his dream fantasy world — however, he must defeat the Demon King that currently terrorizes that world.

To give him motivation, Aqua says he can have anything he wants to bring with him. So…Kazuma chooses her! Now begins his unbelievable quest in a world of magic, where all his companions are troublesome and his enemies an even bigger pain in the butt! Is this really the world of fantasy he’s always wanted to be in?

I watched season one of this anime a few months ago and liked it so much more than I ever expected! I recently saw a tweet from Yen Press announcing the latest volume and discovered it had a manga series too!

Those were some manga I recently added to my TBR! I hope you enjoyed reading. Let me know some of your favourites down below!
