This series follows my experience as a publishing media masters student. You can check out the post for week 6, here. For Week 7 we went back to our usual schedule and it was my birthday!
The Dreaded Proofreading Test
On Tuesday we had to take the dreaded proofreading test. I spent all Tuesday morning practising and practising in the hopes of getting a good mark. What I failed to practice however, was proofreading in the allotted time. I was going very slowly trying to make sure I didn’t miss any mistakes in the texts. As a result, I found myself rushing towards the end to try and finish! I am not expecting an A by any means but I do hope I did enough to pass.
Happy Birthday to Me
The 6th of November was my birthday! Granted, I did end up spending all day at university which wasn’t fun, but I did have a really lovely day. So many people wished me a happy birthday which I thought was so sweet. I was not expecting it at all! A massive smile was on my face all day and I was spoiled with gifts. I got lots of books which made me happy!
Drowning in Deadlines
Not only did we have a test in week 7, we also had a design deadline and our marketing reports are due next week. It’s fair to say stress levels are through the roof at the moment. I do find that if I have a plan and organise what I am going to get done and when, I feel less anxious about it all. To try and combat the stress I got myself a stress ball. Never tried using one before so I’m not entirely sure if it will help at all, but i’ll keep you updated.
As much as I wanted to celebrate my birthday at the weekend I spent it finishing my introduction pages for my Shakespeare paperback. Hopefully the sacrifice will be worth it!
