For the first time in months I am setting myself a TBR. This time it will be for August. My reading has been slow lately so I am hoping having a little TBR pile to get through will encourage me to book up my books more often. I have acquired a lot of new books recently too, most of which will be included below. Furthermore, I am super close to completing my Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2019! I’m determined to get there this month. Here are the books I have included in my August 2019 TBR pile:
The Last Wish By Adrezej Sapkowski

Geralt is a witcher, a man whose magic powers, enhanced by long training and a mysterious elixir, have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin. Yet he is no ordinary murderer: his targets are the multifarious monsters and vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent. He roams the country seeking assignments, but gradually comes to realise that while some of his quarry are unremittingly vile, vicious grotesques, others are the victims of sin, evil or simple naivety.
This was my main book in July and I only got about half way. I am making it my main priority to finish it this month. Mainly because I want to have read the entire series before the Netflix show drops later this year. I only have twenty or so pages left so I am pretty close to ticking this one off my August TBR.
The Beholder By Anna Bright

Selah has waited her whole life for a happily ever after. As the only daughter of the leader of Potomac, she knows her duty is to find the perfect match. But after an excruciatingly public rejection, Selah’s stepmother suggests an unthinkable solution: Selah must set sail across the Atlantic to visit a series of potential suitors—and if she doesn’t come home engaged, she shouldn’t come home at all.
From the gardens of England to the fjords of Norge, Selah’s quest will be the journey of a lifetime. But her stepmother’s schemes aren’t the only secrets hiding belowdecks…and the stakes of her voyage may be higher than any happy ending…
I started this a few days after I picked it up at YALC 2019. I am only 88 pages into it so I have got a good few hundred to get through. So far it is intriguing me and I am interested to see how it continues.
The Folk of the Air Series by Holly Black

One terrible morning, Jude and her sisters see their parents murdered in front of them. The terrifying assassin abducts all three girls to the world of Faerie, where Jude is installed in the royal court but mocked and tormented by the Faerie royalty for being mortal. As Jude grows older, she realises that she will need to take part in the dangerous deceptions of the fey to ever truly belong.
But the stairway to power is fraught with shadows and betrayal. And looming over all is the infuriating, arrogant and charismatic Prince Cardan . . .
The final books in my August TBR! I have been meaning to start this series since forever and I am determined to actually do it this month. In July I got The Cruel Prince & The Wicked King and I also got a proof for The Queen of Nothing. So I all I need to do now is actually read them! I have heard so much appraise for this series. So, I am looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about.

How many books are in your August TBR pile? Comment down below!

Is there anyone (myself included) not dying for Queen of Nothing??
I wish I could answer that for you but I feel like you might be outnumbered
Oh no! I’m in the majority here… I cant wait for it either lol
I liked The Last Wish – I have no idea why I haven’t continued with the Witcher series!
I don’t really have a tbr, I’ll go by my mood haha.
I do that sometimes. Just start a series then get distracted. ahhh nice! I much prefer to read that way honestly!
This month I think is my shortest TBR in a while… so it’s like 9 books ^^;
Oh wow! For me that would be a lot!
Well I usually dont make TBRs during the academic year, so int he summer i get REALLY ambitious. Of course I dont end up reading all the books, but I cant help but go overboard
Great TBR choices. I would love to know your thoughts on The Beholder and I hope you enjoy reading The folk in the air books!!
Thank you! I will be sure to post a review when Ive finished reading it
I hope you enjoy The Wicked King! I never bother with TBRs cause I’m terrible at sticking to them.
Same usually!!
